So my flexible gymnast friend finally invited me over to her tiny Prague apartment, and honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect when she said she wanted to show me something. She’d been training since she was a kid, and you could tell just watching her move around the room—the way she folded into a split while pouring wine like it was nothing. One thing led to another, and pretty soon she was pulling me onto the mattress, laughing, tugging at my shirt. I kept asking if she was okay, and she just smirked and told me to stop worrying. Her skin was warm and slick with sweat, her breath catching whenever she shifted her hips, and I remember thinking how effortless she made all of it look—like gravity didn’t apply to her. Time got fuzzy after that; there was a lot of slow, deliberate motion, her ankles on my shoulders, then somehow her knees, then a twist that made me gasp out loud. We didn’t talk much, just small sounds and the creak of the old bed frame. When it was over she stretched out like a cat, completely unbothered, and asked if I wanted tea.
